Airbnb only gives you two removal requests.

Based on Airbnb help articles as of August 28, 2026. Airbnb can change this. We do not guarantee removal.

If a guest review violates Airbnb's published Reviews Policy, you can ask Airbnb to remove it. You can only submit that request two times for the same review. After that, the request path is closed. That is why the first filing has to be the real one.

What Airbnb says it will consider

Airbnb's Reviews Policy is the test, not whether the review feels unfair. Grounds they publish include:

  • Irrelevant — not about the offering, not first-hand, or the guest never arrived / cancelled for reasons unrelated to the stay.
  • Fake — not based on a real reservation by someone who participated.
  • Extortion, incentives, or pressure — threatening a negative review to get a refund, discount, or other value; reviews given or withheld in exchange for something.
  • Retaliatory — a biased review after the reviewer was notified of their own policy violation. A review that merely discusses a Resolution Center or AirCover claim is not automatically retaliatory.
  • Competition / affiliation — reviews of listings the writer is affiliated with or competing against.
  • Content Policy — explicit, discriminatory, harmful, or illegal content.

What they say does not qualify

  • Disagreement with a star rating.
  • Subjective opinions about a real stay (“the kitchen was cramped”).
  • Mentions of things outside the host's control, such as neighborhood noise, if the rest of the review is still relevant to future guests.

Airbnb generally does not mediate disputes about accuracy. Honest negatives stay. A public response is still allowed.

How the two-request clock works

  • You can ask at any time for a review you received, if you believe it violates the Reviews Policy.
  • Airbnb says they usually email a decision within 48 hours.
  • If a request is already pending, you may not be able to submit another until it resolves.
  • Two submissions is the cap for the same review. Do not spend request one on “this is unfair.”

STR Appeal maps a review against those published categories before you file. It is not legal advice. It does not submit for you. It does not promise Airbnb will remove anything. We are not charging for it right now.
